5 of 5 Texas sizzle and Mexican hot sauce December 1, 2017
Reviewer: Vinny Irvine from Nottingham, .United Kingdom
I got one for the middle position in my HSH strat. The humbuckers being Axesrus Bourbon City .
The Texas Blues, to me sits between those slightly overwound Fender single coils, Tex Mex and Texas Specials - warm but not dull, plenty of bite, spank and twang without being shrill or brittle, a nice mid range boost that cuts through the mix in a band situation.

Clean they are very clear but more bell like rather than glassy, pushed they growl and in the dirty channel they come alive with Texas sizzle.
In this guitar the aim was to get a hybrid Billy Gibbons / SRV tone. The HSH combo hits the the spot - they sound like a matched custom set.

5 of 5 Great Pickups March 6, 2017
Reviewer: Jonathan M Leonard from Swansea, United Kingdom
Added a Texas Blues bridge pickup to my Fender 50s series strat. Already have an Axesrus Strings Ransom pickup in the mid position.
Pickup arrived this morning less than 48 hours after ordering. Really nicely packaged too. Have always had great service from axesrus. And these hand wound pickups are absolutely fabulous.

Ok, so these went in a 66 Dakota Red build I was working on and I guess this is one of the most popular pickup upgrade folk do on a strat - texas hot! These just give the amp preamp a bit more bustle and just turns the break up to sweet levels. I especially like the neck pickup for playing up the neck. Nice!

5 of 5 The Texas Blues pickups are fantasti January 9, 2015
Reviewer: Scott MacAlister from United Kingdom
The Texas Blues pickups are fantastic.  I put them into a custom built Rory Gallagher build (alder body) with your 60s V shape hybrid neck and they are amazing.  I use a pod HD300 and have 3 patches using a Tweed Bassman, clean, a little gain and lots of gain.  We play a mix of Thin Lizzy, ACDC, Blues and modern rock songs and they sound great.    Simply stunning and I'll be having more, in fact if you ever decide to discontinue I'll have to stock up - brilliant!!I honestly can't think of anything wrong with them at all.  Our other guitarist uses a PRS Custom 22 and they give it a serious kicking.

5 of 5 Yamaha Pacifica Upgrade January 9, 2015
Reviewer: Steve Ward from United Kingdom
I just wanted to write and say thank you again for your excellent service, and advice. I have bought a number of items from you over the past year or so and have been very pleased with the quality of product and the speed of service. I have built a number of hand made guitars over the years but mostly on a budget so I have never indulged in expensive hardware and pickups. Having therefore limited knowledge of tonal possibilities by way of comparison, I value your advice on such matters greatly. My most recent purchase on your recommendation was the Texas blues pickups. I have been chasing the Dire straights Knopfler esq. sound for some time, I think I have it!  I know that within reason any plank of wood with two single coils placed at the right distance apart will give the distinctive position 2-strat phase difference sound. However these Texas blues pickups have just the right tonal quality to sound perfect. I have fitted these to my much moded Yamaha Pacifica 112v. The guitar came fitted as standard with a HSS configuration. I replaced the original humbucker with one of you Daddy-o-s, I made a plate to cover the aperture and carry the single coil so no modifications to the body were needed.  The original bridge was a reasonable quality unit but string hang up was a problem. I have replaced it with one of your Wilkinson units. This needed a slight modification to the cut out aperture in order to move the unit 4mm closer to the neck for intonation with the saddles in there mid position. Nothing to serious just filling the original screw holes and filing a few mm of the cut out. The bridge is excellent and I experience no string hang-up when using the trem.  Last week I changed all three pickups to the Texas special devices. I will let you judge the results. All the recordings / overdubs were made using the looping function on my Roland cube 40XL. The drum box was a zoom rt223 and the Bass is a homemade guitar. The amp was milked up to the sound card on my pc.

I have tested these along side a strat with 3 seymour duncan ssl-1 's and on output they are hotter and on tone they are slightly better. So for £45 as against £120 all your customers should know. They are absolutly great. I have 4 vintage reissue strats. My main two have got the class act 60 in the neck and middle and in the bridge, one has the seymour yjm malmsteen and the other has a bareknuckles sinner. The 3rd has three seymours as i have mentioned and the fourth now has three TBs. The latter has just moved up to second place in the pecking order due to the Texas Blues. I wish they had been available when i got the class acts.Other pickups i have tried are your version of the hot rails ,and these are great for the right purpose (out and out balls to the wall rock where tone dosnt matter that much) and can highly recommend these to any hard rock player who doesnt want to hack a hole in his strat. Again the price comparison to seymour is fantastic for what you get.I once tried the wilkinson vintage singles , and in a strat, that was like driving a formula 1 car fitted with a reliant robin engine . no good, and only a bit cheaper than the axerus range.Hope this makes sense and keep up the good work in supplying quality strat products at a great price. P.S i bought a vintage 62 strat neck off you a while ago and i just want to say i was playing it last nite on a gig and it is one of the nicest necks i have ever played. Again Thanks. cameron

5 of 5 excellent pickups January 9, 2015
Reviewer: Curwen Graham from Cumbria
excellent pickups gave the guitar a vintage "make of " strat guitar brilliant pep and a character all its own best cranked slightly to let the deep south come shining through highly recommended  a bargain set

my only concern was the thinness of the bridge tone on low volumes but put a Dave Gilmore switch in to fatten up the sound highly recommended on this set

5 of 5 Squier Standard Transformation January 9, 2015
Reviewer: Bob B from CROWTHORNE, Berkshire United Kingdom
I think these pickups are great. I have upgraded all the pots, strung it with 10's  and went with a 0.033 Orange Drop cap. If you want more high end stick with the 0.022 cap. What a world of difference that whole combination has made. Full sound with a lot more body than the standard pickups but also has 5 great distinctive tones to choose from. Not quite up with the US Standard but not that far off and at less than 20% of the cost it's a no brainer.
