This is the control plate for the USA and Mexican Fender® Mustang guitars.

They do, occasionally, turn up on other models, produced outside of of those regions (Squier® commonly use this spec), and somewhat frustratingly, some USA/Mex/Squier models will use the Japanese Spec control plate.

This plate differs from the Japanese version, because the “point” where it meets the pickguard, is more rounded, and the overall shape, is slightly different, being narrower around the pots.

Annoyingly, the hole plan, and mounting screw positions, are identical on USA/Mex and Japanese versions, so it can be quite difficult to tell the difference (assuming you have a model produced outside of Japan, that uses the Japanese control plates!)
