This is the control plate for the Japanese Fender® Mustang guitars. They do, occasionally, turn up on other models, produced outside of Japan, but, its fairly safe to think of them as “specifically for Japanese models” because, seemingly those guitars never use any other version of the control plate. It differs from the USA and Mexican version, because the “point” where it meets the pickguard, is sharper, and the overall shape, is slightly different, being wider around the pots. Annoyingly, the hole plan, and mounting screw positions, are identical on USA/Mex and Japanese versions, so it can be quite difficult to tell the difference (assuming you have a model produced outside of Japan, that uses the Japanese control plates!)
