Bullet Ferrules

Prices From: £4.50 Inc VAT

Description Technical Specs
These "bullet" ferrules are a slight departure from the original version of the 50s and 60s. They initially debuted as a companion part to a set of strings in the mid 70s and more commonly seen on hard tails.

The narrower design allows the use of a tighter string spacing without having to drill the holes too close to accommodate the larger Ferrules seen previously.

This actually causes a little bit of confusion, as the original style vintage ferrules were never discontinued and are still used on modern guitars, with the tight 52.5mm spacing

As for their relationship with strings, there’s no new disadvantages to using regular ball end strings, but its argued that the branded strings offer a slightly fuller sound as the terminus makes a better contact with the ferrule, and in turn, transferring the vibration into the body more efficiently.
