Description Technical Specs

These are screw fit switch tips, which commonly turn up on guitars produced in Korea, Japan, China and Taiwan.

Originally designed to fit onto "alpha" switches, there's a whole host of different manufacturers producing this type of switch nowadays, and, for the most part, they're all the same in terms of size and function.

Now - there's one thing to watch out for with these.

Once upon a time, these switches, and subsequently, these tips, were designed with M3 threads - at some point in the late 2000s, the threads changed on the switches to M3.5 - half a mm wider. No idea why, and I've no exact dates to match it up to, but there was definitely a change.

These tips are DEFINITELY for M3.5mm threads (which, in real life, will measure about 3.2/3.3mm on the switch)

Frankly, if you do find yourself stuck with an M3 switch and need a tip to get the guitar up and running again - assuming the switch is still functional - a little PTFE tape on the thread will be the idea solution. Built it up a little and it'll take an M3.5mm tip, no problems at all.

Its worth nothing too, that whilst its not common, these switches/tips DO turn up on guitars produced in the USA, so whilst the switches are very common on far eastern guitars, its not exclusive. So always best checking - if your switch isn't a Switchcraft, it'll likely take one of these.
