Description Technical Specs
The “13 hole” version of the bass pickguard that debuted at the very end of 1959, and became the standard in 1960. Differing slightly from the version seen between 1957 and early 1959, which boasted only 10 holes, and as was common on early models, was prone to warping.

Occasionally seen with the “eclipse” for access to the truss rod at the heel of the neck, we’ve left our plates blank just to leave your options open, but it’s a very easy job to add the “eclipse” using an 11mm drill bit then countersink to suit.

Beyond the initial changes to address the warping and movement, and the variable “eclipse”, this bass pickguard hasn’t changed to much through the years.
