Axesrus "Daddy-O's" Single Coil Pickups Axesrus "Classic 50s" Humbuckers Tulip Head 135 Mount Machine Heads

The Daddy-Os are easily one of our favourite single coils in the office – they were initially designed to recreate that iconic 1950s Single Coil tone as accurately as possible, and to do this, we used the same magnets, the same bevels, the same wire, the same insulation – everything is 100%identical to the original – and we’re happy to say they deliver tonally too. What initially started as an exercise in historical re-creation eventually yielded one of the sweetest sounding “clean“pickups we’ve ever made.

Heres a set of pickups were very proud of - combining modern build techniques with vintage ideas to create a brilliant sounding humbucker. The bridge is short, sharp and barks real character, where the neck is big, bright and brassy.

Built using the often overlooked Alnico III magnets, the magnetic field is slightly weaker, but dont read this as a negative! These delicate magnets give better sustain, better highs and more control over the low end, very similar to true 50s humbuckers.

Modern Import Bridge - Vintage Saddles Axesrus Chicago Machine Heads Axesrus "Knee Jerk - Basic" Humbuckers

An import variant of a modern bridge.

Slightly wider 54mm string spacing and the sturdy 3 hole mounting lay out.

A Slight Variation on the Tried and Tested Vintage Style, Now with a
fitted Metal Button Head.Great for adding that little bit of class to a
guitar.
The Knee Jerk humbucker represents an affordable solution for anyone looking for that classic PAF sound, but who just can’t justify the expensive historical recreations.

Harking back to a simpler time, these really are a no nonsense pickups. Both neck and bridge up at the same resistance up in that sweet spot between 7k and 8k, they’ll take whatever you can throw at them, from pop through to hard rock and every thing in between.

They’re built around a slightly weakened Alnico 2 bar magnet, lending the setup a sweet, almost spongy tone, with a pronounced top end. They’re ideally suited to rhythm work, but with plenty of bite in the top end. Just enough so they hold their own when needed for riffs or solos.

Axesrus Vintage Bridge Axesrus "Blues Tubes" Single Coil Pickups 1963 - Modern T Style Pickguard - Double Single coil Conversion - Spec 1

Our own take on the “classic” vintage Bridge, a hybrid between the tonality of the very earliest models seen in the 1950s, but with the more reliable stringing of the 1968 – 1983 version thanks to the grooved saddles.

Great Pickups for getting something different from your guitar, offers a good bluesy sound when kept nice and clean, or crank the reverb and get those perfect surf tones for rockabilly.

A slight twist on the classic Nashville plate, we’ve widened out the pickup slots to take 2 single coils. This really does give you the best of both worlds when it comes to tonal options.

A perfect fit for our Spec 1 control plates.

Axesrus Vintage Bridge w/ Six Saddles 1963 - Modern T Style Single Coil Conversion Pickguard- Spec 1 - Left Handed 1963 - 1988 T Style Style Pickguard - Left Hand - Spec 1

Our take on the short lived Vintage 6 Saddle Bridge, offering unrivalled action and intonation alterations compared to the 3 saddle version.

This is based around a bridge initially seen on the Custom models in 1972, but we’ve tried to aim this bridge at a wider audience looking to get more precision from their guitar, notably providing “String through body” and “String through top” stringing options.

Another of the popular conversion plates that we’re trialing, where the classic Lipstick pickup in the neck slot has been replaced by a slightly larger, livelier sounding single coil.

A perfect fit for our Spec 1 control plates.
